Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma
Urbanadd was selected as the architect for this Hospice facility located in Lawton, OK in February of 2009. Throughout the 6-month design phase, the team integrated the client’s program into an efficient and thoughtful plan, in the end incorporating 2,500 additional SF into the project while remaining within budget. Natural features of the site allowed all nine patient rooms to capitalize on views north and west to Mt. Scott and the Wichita Mountains.
The building houses 8,000 SF of administrative space, a community room, a family room, a chapel and nine patient bedrooms. The limestone- and wood-clad entry and lobby embraces patients and families arriving at the facility, with fireplaces in both the lobby and family room. The support spaces for in-patient rooms are state-of-the-art, with a separate bathing area, whirlpool tub and shower facility. A full nurse-call system is integrated throughout the patient wing. Each gracious room is well-appointed for patients and guests, and includes a large bay window seat to enjoy the views of the mountains, private bathrooms, and integrated medical systems.
