Gevers Cabin

URBANADD, in collaboration with the Gevers, designed this four-season cabin retreat to be a warm and modern escape from their busy Seattle lives. Situated on a steeply sloping site in the woods of the North Cascade Mountains, the home is organized along a central service spine to take advantage of the unobstructed uphill views into the forest. The interior features minimal walls and an exposed heavy timber structure. The exterior is clad in low-maintenance Shou Sugi Ban and weathered barn wood, providing visual texture while blending with the surrounding landscape. The project team successfully navigated complex site parameters and delivered an ambitious aesthetic design within a modest budget.
